ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Instructions for Abstract Content:

  • Limit to 250 words.
  • Figures, tables and graphs should NOT be included in the Abstract.
  • Use generic names of drugs
  • In original research, the results must be submitted with the abstract.
  • No references are needed with the abstract submission.

Structure of Abstracts:

  • Introduction/background.
  • Aim & Objectives
  • Materials & Methods.
  • Result
  • Conclusion

ALL ARE HEREBY INSTRUCTED TO SEND ABSTRACTS IN ABOVE SAID FORMAT. YOU WILL BE NOTIFIED ABOUT THE ACCEPTANCE/REJECTION OF YOUR ABSTRACT.

Please read the guidelines carefully before submitting Abstract:

  • Conference Registration is Mandatory for any abstract submission.
  • Only registered ISA members and registered PG students (ISA members) are allowed to submit the abstract for the Paper/Poster presentation.
  • Only the members of the Gujarat state branch, ISA and PG Students from Colleges / Institutions of Gujarat State, are eligible for competition, for any presentation during the conference.
  • The abstract for the Verbal, Free E-Paper, E-Poster needed to be brief – not more than 250 words.
  • The first author will be the contact person for all the correspondence about the presentation.
  • All abstracts are to be submitted in English only.
  • Please mention the Category for which the author is competing for
  • All abstracts must be submitted via the conference website only. No Physical papers are accepted.
  • The title should be short and concise
  • The abstract should not contain broad statements like "The results will be discussed".
  • You may use standard abbreviations; however mention unusual abbreviations in brackets after the full word, when it appears for the first time.
  • Use numerals to indicate numbers, except when beginning the sentences.
  • Case reports are generally not accepted unless they bring significant and novel biological information; they will be converted to E-Poster presentations.
  • Please do not submit the abstract under more than 2 categories.
  • Please provide your current working Email ID along with the Mobile number.
  • By submission of an Abstract, the author transfers copyright ownership to the organizing committee for publications. The Organizing committee reserves the right to reproduce the abstract/ presentation made in the conference in print or electronic media
  • Abstracts/papers previously published or presented at any national or international conference are not permitted
  • The Scientific Committee will review all the abstract and the acceptance will be communicated to the presenting author prior to the conference.
  • The Scientific Committee reserves the right to allocate a session time or change the presentation type
  • For all paper presentations, the time allocated for presentation is 7 minutes and 2 minutes for the discussion. For case report/E-Poster presentation, the time allocated for presentation is 5 minutes followed by 2 minutes for discussion.
  • We encourage original research work. All abstracts will be reviewed by a panel of experts and then be accepted as Specific Award Category Presentation, free paper/poster presentations during ISACON GUJARAT

Guidelines for E-Poster session:

  • The slide should contain the ISA logo apart from its institutional logo. No other logo is allowed to be included in the slides.
  • The presentation should be restricted to 5 min only. Further, 2 minutes is fixed for assessing and questioning by the judges.
  • The time limit should be followed strictly.
  • Instructions for preparation of the E-poster
  • Please submit your E-poster as a 1-page PPT file in landscape orientation for slide.
  • File format: PPT (one page only).
  • Slide dimension in inches: 16 width x 9 height (landscape orientation)
  • Font size: 24 for text minimum and 40 for heading.
  • Use Times Roman as the preferred font.
  • PPT should be on a white background with black lettering.
  • Structure the case report/series as Title, Introduction, Case Presentation, Discussion, Conclusion, References and Acknowledgements.
  • Structure the research study as Title, Background, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, and References (Total – 1 slide only).
  • Can use images, graphs, tables and charts.
  • Lettering, including figure legends, labelling symbols & graphs etc. should be large enough to be legible when vied on a 50” screen. The ordinary typeface is NOT adequate.
  • No audio/video allowed.
  • Avoid animations/clip art.
  • To be of value, your E-Poster should not be too cluttered. It should be set out clearly and logically, with reading matter reduced to an essential minimum.
  • Make sure that your illustrations are easy to understand; do not overload any chart or drawing with information.

3 Free E-Papers a. Only for Post graduate Resident (MD, DNB). Total 2 Prizes

4 Case Report Presenter should be ISA member & registered for conference Total 2 Prizes
5 Dr. Arvind Patel Award – For presentation on Regional Anaesthesia a. Only for Post graduate Resident (MD, DNB). 1 Prize
b. Presenter should be ISA member & registered for conference.
c. Only two presentations from each college or institution will be allowed for selection.
d.Two presentations for submission should be selected by local faculties of the college/institution.
6 Dr H M Desai Award - For Institutional Faculty Presenter should be ISA member & registered for conference. 1 Prize
7 Dr H M Desai Award - For Private Practitioner Presenter should be ISA member & registered for conference. 1 Prize
8 E-Poster presentation (Competitive) a. Only for Post graduate Resident (MD, DNB). 1 Prize
